A screen (also called a screen plate, sieve, or mesh) in a plastic crusher is the perforated plate or mesh installed at the discharge area of the crushing chamber. It controls the size of the crushed plastic particles that can exit the machine.

What it does

· Controls output particle size — plastic stays inside the chamber and keeps being cut until it is small enough to pass through the screen holes.

· Determines capacity and power load — smaller holes usually mean slower throughput and higher load; larger holes mean faster output but coarser regrind.

· Protects downstream equipment — prevents oversized pieces from entering washing lines, pelletizing machines, or storage.

· Works with the rotor blades — the gap between rotor blades and the screen affects cutting efficiency and wear.
